Seal carving is one of the most popular cultural classes at the CLD, it is offered almost every year!
The pure art of Chinese ancient characters has such a charm to these foreign students.
Even some of them were very beginners, they did not hesitate to take this challenge of carving out their own Chinese names in ancient form.
As usual, the teacher, Mr. Huang, firstly made an introduction to the art of seal carving, including its history; then he made a demonstration of how to carve a seal.
And all of this class was given in Chinese ONLY!
However, this didn't keep students from learning, with the teacher's well-prepared power point and handouts, with photos and the teacher's body language, students learned to pick up the key words of the speech, further to understand the content of the class.
Mr. Huang's humor also made his speech interesting and fun, students were focused throughout the way and got surprised by the teacher's amazing skills.
However, the best part was always the DIY!
The teacher's assistant checked carefully on every student and offered timely assistance.
